We had a mild fall here too, but a bad drought this summer(haven't seen so much brown grass since I left TX), so it seems to have worked out about the same .
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Goodbye Shiner you were always a good dog.

Auzoutdoor, nice pics! I'd love to get "down" there someday, it's the only continent I haven't been to apart from Antarctica.

Here is the view from one of the stands I hunted last fall in Indiana.

I almost got a pic of them splashing through the ditch.

Nice spot Tomh. Watering holes are my favorite.

Jerry Jeffer

Refer to Deadsmple's pics. I hunt with him. Nice shots from GrandView blind brother.

I call this place Pond Spring, and have seen whole herds of elk splashing and playing in it. But since the wildfires of 2002 and ensuing drought, it's become a mudhole ... and super wallow. This Sept., while sitting behind the little brush "blind" in the foreground, I watched a 5x5 bull wall for 20 minutes, never more than 14 yards away. If you've seen an elk bull wallow, you understand why I didn't shoot him! Dave

You guys are just flat KILLING me with all these beautiful pictures of your hunting grounds, especially you AK guys. I lived up there for a couple years outside Fairbanks, until I started traveling for work.
I may just have to come back and do some hunting one of these days.

Great shots guys, keep em coming!
