Besides Minus33,and Smartwool and Icebreaker..are there any cheaper merino wool products that work just as well? These brands seem quite high..almost 100 bucks for a crewneck..pretty steep.. any ideas?

ya know. . .  I said that too.  Then I bought some Minus33.  It is WAY better than the cheap stuff in my opinion.

Look on the internet. I got some from a place called Eskimo Comfort in Berlin WI for a lot less.

I have a Indera mills set and a coldpruf set of long underwear. They are poly/wool blends and have worked well and lasted. Cabelas rag wool sweaters are great and I watch clearance sales after season for other wool. Golite usually has some good wool products as well.

I'm really thinking hard about Kuiu for Colorado next year though.
This stuff ain't no rocket surgery science!

You can find Minus 33 mid weight crew neck top for about $50 with free shipping...pants a little more.  The site I order from usually has sales where you can do even better.  Its good stuff.  PM me for more info.

Quality merino wool clothing is expensive.  I would be wary of anyone selling "merino" wool at prices the drastically undercut the others. You get what you pay for.
