Arrow shelf padding?

Sorry my bow terminology is not up to par, but I have a question.  I am shooting a Bear Super Kodiak and noticed today that the fuzzy padding on the arrow shelf is worn completely down where the arrow rest.  Should I replace it with Bears product or do something else.  I see some people have leather on the shelf.  Seems like that would hold up way better than what I got.

I like the "bear hair" rest. They seem quieter than leather when arrow is drawn. They seem to hold up well for me, and look great on bear bows.

I use velcro on all my bows. Works for me

The most durable and quiet shelf rug I have used, I made from a close sheared coyote foreleg. I attached the rug with contact cement. Sheared nutria also works well but is not as durable as the coyote.

Soft side of Velcro is about all I use (I like feather rests too). It's cheap and durable. I wish I could find a good use for all the left over hard sides of it I have laying around lol.

Another vote for the soft side of Velcro!

Thanks all that's what I was looking for.

I  just tried the soft velcro and love it.

I like the Bear hair rests. They last way longer for me than velcro or anything else, are quiet and afford a little cushioning.

X3 for the Bear Hair.  I put them on most of my bows and don't even own a Bear.  I've used Velcro, but it seems to wear down too fast.

Newhouse, why do you have to shear the coyote foreleg?  That fur is already pretty short as is. - John

Get the industrial grade of velcro. It is thicker and stick like mad.

Fisher Cat, I try and get all the guard hair cut very short and just leave everything about 1/8 inch long. The longer guard hair can move the shaft around a little while drawing.

For rests I use velcro, you can get huge rolls cheaply. For strike plates with no build out I use black mole-skin, for build outs is use velcro.

Soft side of  Velcro  or moleskin. Both are adhesive backed and work great

I really like seal skin if you can find it. I don't think it's legal to buy it anymore but you might find someone that has some lying around.
