In my parts the gun season started a week ago.I got a small peice of property that holds some good bucks. In years past I've hunted it as hard as time off would let me durring the rut.As w/ most other hunters I've had some incounters w/ some good bucks but seem to find alot of these deer in the beds of pickups owned by the hunters on the adjadcent properties.
I was thinking this year to hunt other places until after thanksgiving and monitor this peice. This property has a trmendous amount of cover so the deer feel very safe.
What you all think?

If it's big enough, and the cover is really that good/thick - then I think staying out until the surrounding crowds are gone is the right thing to do - especially if you have time to hunt later.

Good idea, if the surronding hunters are staying on the right side of your property line fence.

I don't know...that's kinda like trying to save the ice cream to eat later without a freezer.
You can't kill him if you're not in there. If you are carefull going in and out, you shouldn't move the deer off your place. And assuming you're bowhunting, even a shot won't spook 'em too bad.

I'm thinking like Biggie on this one. Just be real careful going in and out.

Biggie has it right if ya are careful ya shoul dnot bump them. The problem is the rut itself, if there are does on the surrounding properties than some are gonna be killed no matter what. It makes them do stupid things like not staying on your property. Shawn

I"m with Biggie....you aint gonna kill nothing by not hunting.  Also, with those other hunters around, your thick property is where they are going to go....and I'd be in there if I were you.

So far three 3 1/2 year old bucks taken around me.If any of you are from my parts this is about as old as they get.All 3 of these bucks I had in range and missed the bigger of the 3.There is one in here that is much larger than the 3 taken and all the surrounding hunters saw him last week.Keeping my fingers cross.

Hunt them, you might as well try for one of them or they might just get picked off one at a time. The urge for them to move is to strong for them to just hole up.
