QuoteI don't have a preference. I don't think its the bow or luck. If it is luck, maybe your wife is having all of it lol just sayin.
X2 on this! I don't feel either has anything to do with it.    :D

I think she is having the luck.  I told her to sit on the other end of the woods tonight so she can see one.  I know my luck will change.

Luck of the draw. The bow is just a tool.

That said I just gave away my recurve, it won't stay in my rubber boot like my D/R does while waiting on the deer to show up!  :D
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Longbow for me these days, and likely forever.

DamselflyFarm

I like 'em both a lot, but I find myself more and more these days sitting in natural blinds with my recurve.

Longbow.

I wouldn't get anxious...the season hasn't even started.  Save it for November...heck, I like the last week of the season in December.

I used to be strictly a recurve guy.

One day I thought I should find out what I might be missing.

Having owned an RER recurve, I bought a used 56" Vortex 53# @ my 27" draw. It has a recurve style grip that I was familiar with and liked.

Man...I hated that bow because the draw was so stiff. It hung on the rack for months.

One day I started shooting it and it just grew on me and was way more accurate it seemed, than most of my recurves...RER, Zipper, and Dakota excluded.

Then Old Two Hairs brought over his takedown Thunderchild...I shot it and had to have one.

Now I have two 56" longbows and enjoy shooting them at present.

Who knows...I may change my mind again. Dont we tend to once in awhile?

Bowhunting is a passion, not an obsession. Its just hard for my wife to tell the difference sometimes.

I have no idea why but I absolutely love everything about a longbow. It just feels right and has been the bow of choice for me.

I like both.......I hunt most times with a 60" recurve, but there is nothing like a longbow to carry on a day long journey in the woods.
In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

Iv' been known to miss my first shot. I like getting a second shot. Not sure I would with a recurve. Longbows are whisper quiet upon release.Definite advantages with shorter bows however. I'm sure some recurves are very quiet also.I just am more partial to longbows.

I think I'm a confirmed stickbow guy. The limbs can be kinked or not. I love em all, or dislike one strictly for it's individual characteristics.

Some of the ones I've disliked were longbows and some recurves. Unfortunately, I've liked too many of them    :)

You can't get a deer with your long bow if you don't use it.
You can hop but you can't hide.
If it was not for rabbits I would never get a buck.
