I read about this on here I believe. What is a way to keep inserts in arrows without have to glue and melt and glue and melt incase you have to cut the arrow down several times?

I read wrapping the insert with Suran wrap works?

Btw the arrows I will be tuning are aluminums if it matters.

i like to use dental floss. lay a strip over the hole and push the insert in.
plastic bags never seem to work well for me.

I use the saran wrap method for tuning carbon arrows.I don't like to use any heat on my carbons.Just push in the insert with alittle saran wrap to hold the insert in for shooting and tuning. You need a softer target as not to grab too tight for removal, don't use a foam target. But with aluminums I just use hot melt for tuning. It's quick and easy with aluminum.

I use Saran Wrap or a piece of plastic grocery bag with carbons, never tried it with alum. Also use a bag target for easy removal.

If you're bare shafting, you could always pull the nock end instead.

Ferr L Tite blue. It melts at a much lower temp. Put field point in insert and heat using pliers to hold fp. Rub hot insert on glue stick then insert into shaft dunk in water. To remove insert to cut shaft just heat fp for 3 -5 seconds then use pliers to pull out. The glue melts so quick with indirect heat it doesnt harm the shafts.

I just use a wrap or 2 of electrical tape over the field point as it is in the insert.

Bears can attack people- although fewer people have been killed by bears than in all WWI and WWII combined.

I would think teflon tape would work great for this.

This works.

How much effort is it to heat and reglue? Are you testing the whole dz? or just a couple?

You canuse a tiny dab of super glue. twist with pliers and it will pop loose if you don't use too much.
