So I got to my hunting spot and....

....decided to take a few warmup shots. Went into the truck and got my arrows....no bow! I forgot my dang bow!

My partner laughed as he began his hike out. I got in the truck and headed home for the bow (about a 20 minute drive). "See you at dark!" he said as he hiked out along the corn.

Literally as I pulled into my driveway, the thunder clapped and rain came in buckets. And it kept coming. I laughed and decided to stay home.

20 minutes later I got a text. "I'm soaked" was all it said.

I responded with "I'm dry, and frying up some bluegills".

Because this is a family site, I can't repeat his response...   :knothead:

Nice...

My worst idiot moment while hunting was when I went to film for a buddy.  I'm was so concerned about remembering a dang extra stand to hang in the tree, I forgot my boots!

I was wearing a pair of crocs over wool socks.  It was a morning hunt and we had a long walk through tall grass.

My feet were soaked and cold.  The good wool saved my life.

You make me feel a little bit better.  I forgot my arrows for one late season hunt.  I had recently switched from a bow quiver to an Arrowmaster side quiver I guess I just wasn't used to having an extra thing to drag along.  I didn't realize my mistake until I went to hook my bow onto the haul rope when I arrived at the tree.    :knothead:

For just a moment Roger, your story reminded me of camp, except you're playing the part of Tim.  I think more times than not that boy is coming back to the cabin for something he forgot.    :wavey:
