I've had my takedown mentor for about a month now. This is an outstanding bow. I absolutely love the wide, flat, checkered grip and the mass in the riser. It's very quick and very pretty and Wes is great to work with. I'm very picky and go through a few bows. This one is definitely a keeper in every way!!

Glad you like the bow.  I've owned several of his bows, and am still shooting one now.  He is a stand-up guy and builds what I consider to be a recurve in its most classic form.  They aren't the fastest, but they shoot well and are quiet, plus well-made and nice to look at, too.  I am thinking about trying one of his new short-riser models.

I have had a 64" takedown since 2008. Its very easy to shoot and is my go to hunting bow. My wife got a 60" model about 3 months ago and I received a 58" short riser model in September. I still like the longer bow, but with hunting season here; I have not given the shorter bow a fair chance yet.
Also,my wife has been shooting better than ever with her 60" Mentor.

Joshua:  What do you think of the short-riser model?  That should have the 62" limbs on it if I understand Wes correctly.  Notice any difference in the way it draws or any finger pinch as compared to a standard riser?  Thanks, Paul.

Mine seems very fast, although I didn't shoot it through a chronograph. It seems as fast or faster than any I've owned including: Schaefer, Palmer, Habu, RER, Assenheimer, Rose Oak, Marriah, a few metal riser Hoyt's, etc.

I might have to try one, but I haven't much liked anything under 60" to this point.  Wes says it will feel essentially like the longer riser version since it has the same working limb.  I probably need a new bow, anyway!
