Was wondering how shooting pout of a tree stand will effect your point or or gaps.  If I was using a wheel bow and site I would look at the level to compensate for hill slant.  If I am shooting a point on method how if any will that effect my horizontal shot placement.

Best thing to do is to shoot from a stand if you plan to hunt from a stand. Then, you'll be able to understand how your arrows shoot for you. Here is a video from Jimmy Blackmon, who's a gap shooter. Maybe this will help.

I thought you'd like it. It really helped me too. Best of luck this year!

An archer tries to find ways to shoot further more accurately, a bowhunter tries to get as close as possible to ensure his shot is accurate.

Out of a treestand your gaps are the same but your perspective is different. On level ground at 20ish yards my arrow point is roughly level with a deer's knee. In a stand my point is roughly level with its ankle. I shot over a couple until I learned to aim at the gap and not the deer.

Nice video.  I haven't seen that one from Jimmy.  I am pretty familiar with aiming lower on an uphill or downhill shot.  My question was does having your bow canted make you hit right or left when evaluated.  This is taking into account you normally shot with a vertical bow position from the ground.

If everything is tuned, bow cant should make no difference in point of impact.
