okay guys, hunting season is virtually upon us! For those of you out there who hunt with wooden arrows, let's see your setup including the broad head..!! Just curious to see how subdued or vibrant your arrows are! Bright fletching to see the arrow flight and impact point better, or keep your fletching muted for camouflage purposes..?? just love to see wooden hunting arrows with traditional glue on broadheads...!! if I could figure out how to post pics on here, I would show three or four sets that I have done...!! looking forward to seeing these..!!!! I am Not really computer challenged, but photobucket has driven me crazy...???....:-D

Pretty subdued here. Some of Snag's finest in my opinion. Real turkey feathers, surewood shaft. I love how they quiet down my bow. But, I think my next ones will have red fletching on them.

I don't have many picks of my arrows with broadheads too, these sure woods are made by my buddy Treekiller in Oregon he cuts and stains his own turkey feathers been getting arrows from him for a long time.

The business end!

More Treekiller surewoods!

Here's what I'll be hunting with this year courtesy of Gary Hall (D&M Custom Arrows).  Gary normally doesn't make wooden arrows, but he made me these beauties as a return gift for a bow I made for him.  I don't have any pics of broadheads on them, but they are now tipped with Magnus vented 2 blades.

I missed this morning because of work but I'll be headed out with these in the morning!

Douglas fir (Surewood) and Stos or Magnus II heads.  This year I'm using a three edge Mowoc Dot.

Sometimes they break when the deer falls on them or runs past a sapling and the shaft snaps.  It's worth it.  They're satisfying to make.

I'm no good at posting pics, but I make my hunting arrows as bright as possible.  I have some wood arrows that are painted yellow front to back, with yellow nocks and yellow fletchings.  I like to see where my shot goes.  We have some of the most nervous deer I've ever see around here, but I use an Arrowmaster so my arrows are hidden except for the one on the string.  If a deer sees that, I'm busted anyway.
