Try it with garlic and hot sauce might be good  :) . We all do it . If we never miss then we would never know the fealing of a great shot ( think about it )

Doesn't sound like you did any damage. I would be right back in there myself. Best of Luck

Cleaning up the hunting gear and getting ready to head out again in the morning. Should I try and give this area a rest or do ya'll think it will be safe to go back in there so soon?

I admire your efforts, first shot in 8 yrs doesn't give you much experience, I'm VERY experienced at missing! Why so few shots, maybe a new hunting area would be better.....

good story, I like reading about the misses "almost" as much as I like reading about the hits!

we all learn somethign from a miss, just one more thing out of the way and like someone mentioned a clean miss is a good miss doesn't have that sick feeling in the stomach that some of us have felt in the past.

I haven't gotten my first shot off yet, but looking at yours I call it a success.... At least you found the Arrow.

I chickened out on a skwerl last weekend, just cause I didn't think I was getting the arrow back if I was slightly off.  Threw the creep on one doe and thought she threw me, just to step on a stick and hear her squirt across the river an extra 25yrds bellow.

I, sir, am excited about your miss.  Could be better results, but already better than where I am at and closer to where I hope to be this evening or tomorrow morning.

Good hunting, god bless, and good luck!

You got your deer permit's worth of fun! You'll get the next one. As for heading back to the same spot, I try to vary my hunting location as much as possible, so I don't cause the deer to alter their normal movements.

Wannabe1

Thanks, I am heading out in a few and thought that might be a good idea also. I don't want to much of my scent all over and wanted to give them time. Got another area I hunt and will head there.

It's good to get the blood pumping with a close encounter like that. Now that you got the bad shot out of the way, you're ready to bring home the venison!

Good luck!

I have more misses than hits. last year I missed a buck of a life time by a hair, But more fuel to keep at it. Hang in there. Sounds like you did not spook the doe.
