Pop Up Blind makes my bow seem loud....

I rarely use a pop up blind, but I discovered a spot on our lease that was just screaming for a ground blind...and after Sundays drenching I decided I wanted a spot on this property that I could hunt and stay dry. I swung by Cabelas today and picked up a pretty nice blind....Cabelas brand, and it had long vertical windows perfect for shooting a bow. My 64" Baraga Whisper fits perfectly, lots of head room. It's a very nice, comfortable blind for an all day sit.

I think I have killed 3 deer from pop ups (with a bow)...and I don't remember any undue noise. But when I shot my normally silent Whisper out of this blind today, I actually thought my bow broke. Step outside and shoot...silent....inside the blind, loud as heck. Anyone ever notice this?

I'm going to have my neighbor shoot my bow tomorrow from inside the blind, I want to hear it from a deer's perspective...not happy right now.

It drove me crazy so I had my dad stand outside the blind while I shot and he said he could barely here a thing. So yea it's just an echo but man is it weird to actually here my bow like that.

It's probably the material that the blind is made of. My Hidden Hunter blind absorbs any noise....very quiet.     :archer:

I thought about that Ron...glad I have Randy and Ken making me another one to leave up at Shrewhaven.

I'm glad I tried it before a hunt.  It's something I need to get used to.

I get that when I shoot my bows from our covered porches.

To you it seems louder because the sound is being contained in a small space.  To the deer, it will actually be quieter because fewer sound waves are getting to him...unless of course you hit your limb on the fabric or one of the poles, then things really get exciting.
