Im wanted to go a little heavier with my shoes and thought about jumping up to a 75/95 GT.   I see the spine jumps from 400 to 300. Just wondering how much of a difference that will make bare shafting?  right now my gold tips are cut exactly to length and are a little under spined.   My set up is a R/D Thunderhorn 57# @ 27 inches with a 205 Simmons up front.

I'd start with .340s first...

GT doesn't make a 340 that I can see?

The GT camo 75/95 are .340. Good luck on them. Big Jim's Archery is where I buy mine(blems).

I had a Dwyer Endeavor and it was 56.5@28 and was shooting full or near full length 7595 traditionals with 100 grain insert and 150 grain tip. Run your set-up through Stu's calculator and see where you are at with the 7595's. GT's 340's are in their other model of 7595's.

Go to a carbon express 250 and enjoy 600 grains minimum! Just a thought

I shot ICS bow hunter .340s. I liked them just as well as gold tips and they seemed a little tougher to me.

i shoot the black ones in 75/95. they are .340 (the trads are stiffer at .300). my setup is a 53#@28 RER Retro with 250 grains up front, and i leave them longer at 31". works great for me. they would be a good bit stiffer at 27" though.

Unless you are totally committed to carbon arrows your situation begs for aluminum...the thing with aluminum is you can vary dynamic spine quite a bit with point weight and you can count on the actual spine being what is marked...I have heard that spines on the Gold Tips are not held to very good tolerances and the other day when installing inserts I noticed one shaft with a considerably bigger inside diameter indicating there may be some issues with build quality...you have a number of choices with aluminum between 400 and 300 spine...2216 and 2219 and 2315...of course if you are committed to carbon welcome to the world of frustrating yourself and good luck

Damascus Dave - i actually am looking at some 2020 shafts

75/95's used to be listed as .340.I heard that the .300 is a misprint but don't know for sure.

At any rate,bows I have in the low 50# range,need about 225 grs up front on 55/75 Gold Tips and about 390 grs on 75/95's.

If I were going to use an aluminum arrow,2020's would be my first pick.They have a heavy wall and relatively narrow diameter.they are one of the toughest aluminum shafts.

IMHO the 2020 shaft is overlooked as an alternative to HFOC carbons. It was the go to shaft for 55-60+ bows years ago before we had so many choices and compound bows.
I like the 5/16 diameter as well. I would still do the bare shaft testing to find the length needed to work with the weight Broadhead you use.

I shoot full length 5575's out of my  63 lbs raptor longbow. Total arrow weight of 705 grains. IMHO if you go 7595 they will be way too stiff. I have to go over 800 grains to get 7595's to shoot and that is a 32 in shaft. Good luck, Scott.

Use GT's weight system to increase total weight.

The 55/75 are already alittle under spined for this bow and my shooting.   My broadhead tipped arrows fly great but i can never get them to bare shaft very well. .. they always fly a little tail left and nook high.   I think the 75/95s and 2020 will work
