If we're not supposed to eat animals ... how come they're made out of meat? ~anon

Bears can attack people- although fewer people have been killed by bears than in all WWI and WWII combined.

a sheep hunter passed away from a bear attack the other day in southern alberta, makes a guy think twice about doing a solo trip

Wow, safety is not something to take lightly when hunting! Feel for the mans family.   :(

Last year I tested myself, to see if I could pull off a goat or a sheep hunt. Finding them was the easy part, getting to them with a camera was impossible for me.  Because of a crazy inner ear thing, I found myself in an extremely dangerous situation. I can imagine that exhaustion from moving a downed animal may have played a roll in getting this individual into trouble. The goats that I found were in the most precarious places, getting them out would have required a team with climbing gear.

Still a better way to go than your last 3 months in hospice in the fetal position with a crap filled diaper.............
Bowhunting is "KILL and EAT" not "Catch and Release".....Semper Fi!

Prayers will be made for his family. As terrible as this is, he at least died doing something he loved. Please don't think I am making light of his death, but as hvyhitter indicated, there can be worse circumstances under which to die.
