Just wondered where you guys have had successful hog hunts. Some friends and I are wanting to plan a hog hunting trip. Thanks for any info.

Try True South Adventures Their a sponsor on here and have had many successful hunters post on her of their hunts.

Do a search and you will see some bacon.

Perry,

Jim and Irv at True South are great!  I hunted with them earlier this year and will be returning next year as well.

Also check out Hunt Wild Things, another TG Sponsor.

Great hunting and accommodations!  Check out the Hog Wild Revenge Hunt thread for details on hunt for TG members this coming December!

Is your interest in a diy hog hunt or a paid hunt?

Rob W.

RonD, I have been talking with Perry and either a DIY or paid would be considered.

A DIY would be the more desirable option but we don't know that much about hog hunting and the better areas.

Just to put it out there, you can take a look at a few public places here in Mississippi for a DIY hunt. Hillside NWR, Panther Swamp, and Dahomey NWR. If interested I would recommend that you contact the management of these areas and asked for detailed information. I hunt Dahomey NWR here in the Mississippi Delta, but it is a lot of work when you are on your own instead of a guided or feeder setup. With Dahomey NWR you can use the Great River Road State Park for camping (modern and primitive. This park is only 8 miles north of the NWR.

Thanks for the info RonD.

I hope this trip comes together. I don't get to hunt as many different places as some of the other guys.

Thanks a lot Ron D. We will check it out

Should you decide to hunt the Dahomey NWR let me know and I will help with what information I can based on my experience hunting there. I live between 8 and 10 miles from Dahomey in Cleveland, Ms. If you prefer a motel stay as opposed to the camping at the Great River Road State Park let me know and I will help gather information on prices and provide you with a list of motels in Cleveland. You will also want to wear a good pair of snake boots, snake chaps, or both. I don't raise the snake issue to scare you but to make you aware that they are here and you need to be vigilant when you are on the NWR. If have any other questions let me know.

perry f, I sent you a PM.
I just finished up a hog hunt we donated to TBOF last spring.I had two experienced trad hunters in camp. In four sits, they saw at least 30 hogs(total),had two misses during the hunt and a passed up shot the first evening, also took out a corn robbing raccoon!. Our shot opportunity rate is above 90%, and about 98% since April.
The web-site is best accessed from a pc, by the way.Lots of info on our fb page and youtube channel: Jim Dussias.
We do free range hunts, not stocked, no buggies, no rifles, or barking dogs. We have 5 properties right now that we rotate to keep pressure light.
Give me or Irv a call for more info.
Thanks guys for the kind words.

I have never been to true south adventures. Sounds like a quality place. Once I started hunting hogs in Texas it has been hard to look back. Most ranches are thousands of acres. Northern Texas for hogs and southern Texas for Javie and hogs.

Thanks Mike.
I've always said, I really only need 15 yards of property:)
I think part of our success is because our properties are relatively small we can manage them to give hunters their best opportunity at hogs.(as opposed to turning them loose on 10,000 acres, which there's nothing wrong with either)

Put you in the favorites. This is the kind of place we have been looking for...without going so far west.
