Every year I like to start a thread on stand names. Some are self explanatory but some need an explanation .There are some great stand names!

We have the following

Pond stand.  Behind the dam
Field corner
Wooded food plot
Point plot
Hidden spring
Rub city
Bulls eye.  Named for the mark on a tree after cutting a limb
Grampa    Huge buck killed from it
Triple tree
3 stump
Turkey roost
Shed alley
N creek
Hole stand
3 rub
Mossy knoll creek
Upper mossy knoll
Spring hole
Ridge run
Towel head.  In the middle eastern part of the property

Some old stand names we had were

9 squirrel
Spoon.  It was in a bowl
Knob tree

What have you got?
When a man shoots with a bow it is own vigor of body that drives the arrow,  his own mind controls the missile's flight......His trained muscles and toughened thews have done the work

Loggy ridge (consistently hot ridge top with an ancient loggy bayou stand on it)
Thicket
Papaw (gigantic red oak)
The beach (loaded with beech trees)

Each stand gets a pet name after it's proven itself.  We have a lot of fun with it.  Great thread!!

We have had several.

Hilton - a very large, comfortable  permanent stand in a big white oak

Rattlesnake - one of the guys almost bitten while building it

Poison Oak - had to clear out a lot of poison oak to build it

Number 4 - built on number 4 field on the property

No Sight - When the shot came, I realized my pistol sight was missing

83 stand - first built in 1983

Tower - a big platform I built to COMFORTABLY bow hunt from

The Creek, down on the creek

The Grandpa, found a stand that looked as old as grandpa, replaced with a new one but it stuck.

The Double, V-split in tree-one ladder stand, one hang on you get to from the ladder stand-fun to sit two people.

The George- lovingly named for my uncle who tagged a doe with two people watching a week after I hung it, and his first season/kill after a long hiatus

As I use my climber pretty heavily I only have 2 fixed stands and the name is which property they are on. (both are my stands)

We were fortunate last yr to get a farm close to 200 acres. We decided to give names of stands and the terrain so our grand kids could be able to tell us where they were. The youngest will be 15 next month so for safeties sake we came up with these names
Far East side of property we named. Asia
Middle trail in prop. Middle trail
Hens den. Named after oldest child. She's protective
Edwards Esby
Ethan's Edge
Evans Heaven
Sofies Squeeze real tight trail
Tree house stand. Yes we built the kids a treehouse
Hog wallow stand
Oat stand.
White oak pass
Cardiac Hill. I borrowed this name from Tom Phillips Canada bear hunt where I harvested a bear
Double man stand
Summit ladder stand
South side corn feeder
Middle field stand
Old tree house stand
And 4 shooting houses. 1-4.
This helps us know where everyone is and they love their names on the property.
Also. We took old shovels and painted them black and hung them up on the trails and stands with the names painted in white.
