So got and assembled my new BW PSAX bow. I let it sit over night strung to allow the string to stretch some. Today I went out to tune the bow and my arrows. After a day of shooting I noticed some light coming through the top limb. I unstrung it and the top bolt was a whole half turn loose. Does anyone use red or blue tread lock? Any other ideas? I retightened the bolts

I have never had this happen with mine, nor have I ever used tread lock.  I use teflon tape on my field tips to keep them snug.  Maybe you can try this.

This is the first widow I have ever owned. I assembled how the video and owners manual said. I was kinda surprised. It didn't make any noise shooting.

I would contact black widow and ask before you put anything that on it.  You may try string wax on it. We use it on our field points and that stops tbem from loosening up. Also you can just wipe the wax off unlike titebond.

Put string wax on your limb bolts, but if it happens again after the wax, contact BW.

I should have clarified myself by saying rub string wax on the threads of the limb bolts.  Thanks Gen 273.

Just settling. Likely you didn't have it as tight to start with. I'm sure the rubber washers need some settling just a little too.
I would bet anything that the bolt didn't back out while shooting or start pulling out.

Congrat's on the BW.  

Went through the same thing when my first BW was delivered.  Found that nothing was wrong.  Called BW and was told by Roger that their limb bolt torque is between 65 and 70 INCH, AGAIN INCH, NOT FOOT, pounds. Torque values VARY with thread lubrication, sealing material and contamination (dirt). Less torque if lubed or sealed especially with TEFLON pipe thread tape.  I strongly suggest you avoid any lube or sealing on the brass bolts.  They won't rust.

You can clean the bolt threads with cotton patching using your fingernail to get into the threads.  Then redo with a dry patch.  Next carefully clean the threads in the riser with a lightly oiled Q-tip.  Redo with a dry one to remove the oil.  

To achieve the torque setting, affix a limb and press it firmly onto the stud.  The o-ring is a moisture seal and will compress.  Next run in the limb bolt using the LONG end of the Allen key until you just feel solid contact.  Then reverse the Allen key to place the short end in the bolt.  Tighten the bolt with the LONG end in your fingers ANOTHER 3 1/2 visual "clock hours" for the practical equivalent to 65 INCH pounds. 70 INCH pounds is 4 clock hours. 70' ok, too, so don't be concerned.  The bolts and inserts will handle more torque but don't go there! This visual clock hours technique is used all over the mechanical realm and will be close enough and is an easy way to eliminate carrying more tools.

For what it may be worth, a BW pamphlet of instructions and a separate DVD came with your bow.  The DVD is also viewable on UTUBE.  

I have placed limb bolt index marks on all my trad, compound and cross bows for years.  I use a narrow swipe of white correction fluid across the bolt face and bezel shoulder.  Nail polish works, too.  NONE have ever rotated.  Of course there is the extremely remote chance that the female thread insert is loose, but I've never seen or heard of that.  Index marks will put your mind to rest.  BW loves to hear from its customers.  Give em a call.  Oops, it's the beginning of the season, so please be patient.  They always return calls so leave your name and number.

I agree with Big Jim, with pressure on the limbs it is ALMOST impossible to loosen up.

Have owned multiple T/D bows that required additional tightening after the first set.

Congrats on the new bow! Don't over tighten the limb bolts, just snug them up.. The new rubber o-rings just needed to flatten out a little.

Thank you all for the info, I am for sure going to make a torque line across the bolt and limb socket to ensure the next round of shooting doesn't change anything and the bolts remain in the same spot.

nice !! don't over tighten your limb bolts, just snug is good. The first time you put the limbs on you are compressing the o rings on the locator pins so just un string it and snug em again. shouldn't be a problem,  that one time should be the last time you will need to do that.

What Dave said. That has happened to me too. Get em snug but not over tight!  

Congrats on the new widow. Awsome recurve bows. Never liked the longbows much but the PSA's are my favorite. Had a PSAV and just got a PSAX. Should really sell the PSAV but, every time I shoot it can not do that.
Can not say enough good things about the company or their bows.

I use string wax on the threads and my thumb and forefinger only to snug the bolts down.
