First I would like to thank all who freely give of their time and experience on this forum.

Halloween evening, Black Widow PLX, 62", 46 lbs. @ 28", Beman MFX 500's with 125 grain brass insert, Magnus 2 blade 125 grain broadhead, natural ground blind, using Double Bull 3 legged stool with back rest, 12 yard shot, double lung pass through, doe went 20 yards and piled up. WOW!!

I will be 59 years old this spring, and I wish I had started this many, many years ago. This doe is a far greater trophy than any buck I have killed with other means.

Thanks for listening (no pictures).

Good job Bill, any deer with trad equipment and from a natural blind is quite a trophy in my book

Congratulations.

Some people would never understand your statement
about your doe being a far greater trophy than a buck by other means. They are indeed missing out.

Better late than never. I hope there are many happy hunting seasons to come for you and your
traditional bow.

Again, congrats. Way to go!

congrats on a job well done!

Any deer with any bow should be a trophy in anyones eyes.

With the tradgear  - It's a trophy that only a bowhunter who has put the hard work learning the traditional way can understand.

My first deer with the longbow and my first deer with the recurve I was more excited than any P&Y buck I have ever taken.

My goal is to combine a P&Y and trad gear in the years to come.

For hunting to have a future, we must invest ourselves in future hunters.

I had stopped bow hunting altogether for about 11 years because I did not enjoy shooting the compound. I did not enjoy practicing, the bow felt extremely heavy, and eventually I just quit. Not knowing anyone who shot trad, or forums such as this one, trad gear never entered into my mind. I then saw a copy of Traditional Bow Hunter which had an advertisement of a traditional shooting clinic being held at Black Widow by Mr. Ken Beck and Mr. Fred Asbell. A phone call later, and wham, my life changed forever. Now, I literally shoot every day. People I work with, and other hunters not using trad gear, can't understand how or why I would commit to a longbow and my insistance of hunting on the ground using natural materials. It has been a week today that I hrvested my trophy, and I am still geeked!!!

Hey Bill; Here`s to always being "geeked"!

Way to go, Bill.  I'm 57 and I just started shooting trad a few months ago.  You are an inspiration.
