It's always a pleasure when I have the opportunity to share our beloved sport with our youth. Today was our annual Youth Fest at the Painted Post Field And Stream club here in P.P. NY.We hold a series of events including Trapping,Air Rifle, Muzzleloading, Primitive Skills,Smallbore Rifle,Fly fishing,Tree stand Safety,Skeet, and of course Archery.As the acting archery instructor,I have the pleasure of deciding how and what is included in the days archery event. Needless to say this always includs a big helping of traditional archery along with instruction on the use of the other gadgets they include in the archery line up. This years turn out wasn't as large as last years, but the kids seemed more attentive than ever. I'm also happy to announce that many of the kids favored the ease and simplicity of the stick and string.I included all the neat items from Primitive,laminated long bow,and recurve.
