I am completely amazed at how you guys shoot .400 and .500 spined arrows out of #50+ bows. I CANNOT get a beeman mfx .340 to show stiff that is cut to 30.5" with standard insert(around 20 grains) and a 175 grain head.

Build a new string for it(14 strand BCY-x) and it made my arrows even weaker. Guess I'm going to have to go back to my other string.
Agreed. I'm shooting goldtip 7595 trads with my PSA, 30" long with 200 up front. 59# at my 28" draw, with an 8 strand SBD. It seems like every thing I try is too weak. Might be a form issue, but it shoots and bare shafts quite well. [/b]
Same thing with me.  my arrows bareshaft well too(before i built this new string).  So now I am wondering exactly what i'm going to do.  I may try to trim them a little and see if that helps.

The problem is i have no idea how to get these HIT inserts out.  They were installed when i got the arrows.

Daniel trim your arrows from the nock end.

Put a tip on them the use a lighter and heat the point. That will loosen the inserts enough to get them out.

PSA V 58in. 52@28 gold tip trad 55/75 29.50 inches long, 50 gn insert + 125gn field.

PSA X 58in. 58@28 gold tip trad 75/95 29.50 inches long, 50 gn insert + 175gn BH.

I draw 28.50 inches. I use a SBD string 8 strand D10.

If HIT inserts are installed with HIT epoxy, they ain't coming out....trust me, I tried.

You and I are really close.

Trim the HIT arrows from the back.  Way less hassle to remove the nock, trim and chamfer, reinstall nock.

Personal form seems to be a big factor when arrows show up weak or stiff contrary to the 'formula' for different people.  I'm one of the ones that consistently gets what should be weak arrows to shoot great for a bunch of bows that 'should' take stiffer arrows.

Logic would point out the simplest factor maybe being draw creep producing reduced draw weight and hence requirement for a softer spine for myself and the other 'soft spine' folks, BUT I have experimented with a variety of bows and even lower draw weights where I'm able to hold at full draw for a loonnng time and it always ends up the same.  I have discovered that it is related to how I aim and release the bow.  I am lefty and have a natural tendency to shoot to the right so if I go with an arrow that "fits" the formula or spines stiffer it will just magnify that natural 'error'.  Shooting a softer spine setup allows me to correct for that.  That's my theory anyway LOL.  I'm never done experimenting.

PSAV 60" 58#@29 (I draw 28"). BW D97 string. I am shooting easton gamegetter 340s (30") with 125 gr. Field points. These seem like they should be way too stiff, but that's what bareshafts best (still slightly weak). I tried 2018s,  400s and 2216s, but they bareshafted way too weak.  I haven't had this bow very long and I keep repeating the bareshafting to see if I get different results but it always comes out the same. Lol. The only other 55# bow that I had to go this stiff was a pittsley predator.
