I am able to tune my Whip bow
36# at 29 with a FOC of 10,   11,    or 12 buy going from 100 gr point to 80 gr. and adjusting the arrow length....

for 3D what should I choose.....

the arrow is Carbon express heritage 75 (675 spine)

ISP 5353

I would shoot the lightest and fastest set up that tuned well for 3D.

canuck4570

OK for lightness

the low FOC will keep it from dipping at longer range

but is it as accurate as a higher FOC

over here the distandes a for traditional   no longer than 25 meters

Friend

Believe at least 5% FOC is typically required to obtain excellent arrow flight.

Your choice!

On the extreme end...have personally shot a 9 pt 3D average with 31% Ultra EFOC...dually note that the course was merely of moderate difficulty and I was experiencing an exceptional day.

geee

always was told that  8 to 9 is as low as I should go

Flying Dutchman

I shoot competitive 3D for years and 10% is my preferred FOC. High enough to get a straight flight and low enough to prevent it from diving at longer ranges. I can hit targets at 60 yards without too many problems and at that distance I see a perfect flight.
It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that string! [/i]
Cari-bow Peregrine
Whippenstick Phoenix
Timberghost ordered
SBD strings on all, what else?

canuck4570

so my present FOC at 12 is a bit high

will experiment and see

thanks.

You got it right.... anything under 8% is too unstable in any kind of wind at all.
