Any recommendations, preferences or advice between the two. Primarily for Sept CO elk hunt but would like to use it other times as well. Thanks

I have the downpour but have not tested it yet. What's the difference between the cloudburst and dew point?

The most frightening thing you are likely to encounter in nature is yourself.

Both are great jackets, i have the cloudburst and like it alot. If you wanted to spend a few more dollars the coldfront is the best all round jacket it will last you MANY years bomb proof they should call it the 100% jacket

Best of luck

Another option to look at is the boundary jacket by first lite.  I've been using mine for about a year for hunting and work and am still very impressed.
Between both of the sitkas, I'd also go with the cloudburst unless you're really worried about weight.
