I was gifted a Bear Magnesium T.D. and there is a small problem with it.
In the latch system there is a bolt that goes through the latch and the spring behind it and then screws into the riser. One of them was broken off in the hole... can't imagine how that happened.

Anyway, I cleared the piece that was down in the hole and would like to to replace the bolt. Bear Archery tells me that the parts on the new models will not fit... this is a first generation bow.

I'd appreciate it if someone can tell where I might find a replacement.

Charlie, Have you tried a good hardware store that sells fasteners by the piece?  My local store has both sides of an entire aisle filled with anything I've ever tried to match up.  I'd almost be surprised if they didn't have one that would work.
A local machine shop might be another possibility.

In the end, it is not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years. Abraham Lincoln.

Charlie,
Easy fix.
Remove the screw from the other latch (oil it first) and Ace  hardware or other quality hardware store can get you a match or similar screw that will work.
I've replaced a couple this way. They have all sorts of springs too if those are mushy in your riser.
Good luck

Thanks guys. I have already tried my local True Value hardware. No luck there. I need to go into the city tomorrow so maybe I'll try Lowe's or Home Depot.

There's a machine shop not far from me as well. I'll give that a go.

I thought there is somebody selling those screws either here or on ****? maybe his name was Monty?

Call Monte Dunaway, he has what you need.

If one ACE does not try another. Check for a bolt and fastner company either local, or online. If you know the size and thread, google it.
