Terrible dilemma!

Well now I've got myself in a fix. I decided I had too many bows and should cut things back to just 3 or 4 and shoot primarily just one, with the others as entertainment if I wanted some variety.

I've been wanting to try a Hill style bow for a long time and found a JD Berry in the classifieds. Bow is on the way, but that meant I needed to sell at least two and preferably three or four.

I took my right-hand Kevin Cramer 50's style recurve with me to a 3-D shoot yesterday, but it didn't sell at $150. I had a Big Foot Yeti that I found really interesting, but wanted to keep my bows in the mid-to-upper 40's so I put it up for sale. Not too much interest in that 42# Yeti, so when I was offered a trade for a Treadway Black Swamp 47# I jumped at the chance. My thinking was that a 47# bow would be easier to sell than a 42#.

My dilemma?  The Treadway came in yesterday while I was at the 3-D shoot. Now I can't sell the darned thing. It shoots as well as any bow I've ever owned and better than most. It has a finish that surpasses ANY bow I've ever owned and I've had some nice ones. It's like looking down through an inch of crystal clear glass to the markings and then another inch to the veneers. Chechen and maple riser, birdseye maple veneers. So much for thinning the herd    :(

Sweet bow... You strike me as a very well rounded man. You definitely need to keep a few bows to stay so well rounded, just saying.

I really don't mean to laugh at your troubles but LOL LOL LOL

I am counting 7 bows in your signature and 7 is a lucky number.

Bladepeek

I try not to keep all 7 on the bow rack. 7 might not be considered a lucky number by my wife

Ron,

You've just ended up with one of the finest crafted/shooting longbows on the market.  Mikes fit and finish, and bow design is outstanding.  I've owned a number treadways and they are finely crafted....   Hang on to that one...

Yep Mitch. I think you are definitely right on that one. Think I may have a solution. I'm really shooting all of my bows and hate to part with any I now have. There are, however, guns in my safe I haven't shot in a long time. I'm going to put any that I haven't shot in the last 3 years up for sale.

Hey! Then I can buy more bows.   :goldtooth:

tippit, it's actually 7 1/2 because the RER has two sets of limbs.

Hows the knee coming?

Gorgeous bow.  I almost bought it.  Had to be strong.  Glad it went to a good home!  Mike Treadway has a dedicated following down here in the southeast.  If you go to any given shoot you will most likely see at least one of his bows.  The fit/finish appears outstanding and they seem fast and super quiet.  I will own one someday.  Most likely a Black Rock takedown.

Man that looks almost just like one of my Treadways!  You're right--great shooters.

I heard bows go really quick when you put a  "Free"  tag on them.

There is just something about Birdseye Maple that is mesmerizing.

Awesome with the Chechen!

Right Keith. We Yankees are known treasure hunters.

Besides, I lived in MD and worked in Alexandria, VA for a few years. Maybe, just maybe, I might have heard Mike's name mentioned somewhere   :)
