What is your favorite broad head...anybody ever use single bevel heads if so with what results

Tyler C. Moore

Most heads will work fine if they are very sharp and placed right. If you try using the search button above you will have endless information to read..

Depends on what I'm hunting. The Simmons treeshark and a four blade eclipse covers just about everything I hunt.

According to what I am hunting.

My favorite are German Kinetic broadheads. I use the 1 1/8" model for bigger, tougher game, and the 1 1/2" model for deer sized game.

I'll second the Silver Flames. I only use the standard widths.

I use Magnus Stingers.  Usually 125 4 blade

In a two blade I like a Simmons Shark. In a three blade, I have had good luck with a VPA. I also love the new Grizzly Instinct 3 blades, the easiest to sharpen head that I have ever used, they also fly like darts.

Grizzly Kodiak two blade, single bevel.  Great broadhead that comes highly recommended by Dr. Ashby after his testing with African game.  Bill Dunn with Zipper is the new mfg, a sponsor here and a good guy.

Simmons Tree Shark, Zwickey 4 blade delta, and Wensel Woodsman, are my top 3 in no particular order.

I have shot many different broadheads over the years.  You asked about single bevel.  Shot a doe with a Grizzly Kodiak and it made a "s" slice in her liver that was way wider than the head.  She didn't go far at all.  Quickest I've seen a liver hit go down.  I have confidence in several heads and generally like them on the wide side, but I'm very impressed with the Grizzly SB.

I prefer Ribteks for 2 blade heads....and Snuffer for 3 blade.  That being said I have a set of Grizzly Kodiaks, single bevel 2 blades I used two years ago for hog hunt.  Did well on hog but gator or something dragged hog into water when it laid up on edge of river in tall cane so never was able to inspect the damage.  I am awaiting a set of the Grizzly 3blades called Instinct.

The Grizzly is a good head...easy to mount and strong design.  I also would be interested if looking for single bevel with the Tuff Head.

If I had to pick one for the rest of my days it would be a Stos 125 gr.

Trying a Modoc Dot this fall because there are so many good heads current and past that there is no reason to just pick one.

Have not tried a single bevel head or knife.  Seems to work for chisels and lawnmowers so it's probably no worse than a proper edge.  ;-)
