I was at my local shop yesterday..
  They actually understand Trad.
And Eric, I hear what your saying, But I admit to the fact that I know nothing about Compounds.

Teach EVERYONE you can what you know...

I don't bother.  I have field points from 65-325gr in weight and cut my own arrows after starting out with full length (have 29.5" draw length).

I have been thinking of developing a business after I retire that would sell ONLY trad bows and components but would have to keep all overhead very low because the demand for traditional products is very low compared to that of other archery items.

Also, there is not the array of stabilizers and sights and rests and all the other accessories that are sold with compounds but since there is absolutely nobody else selling exclusively traditional products makes me curious if it would work out.

You can't fault people for what they don't know. You can only explain where you are coming from. The vast majority of American bow hunters are compound shooters. Therefor the primary pro shops are going to focus on what brings in the groceries.

I do all of my own work. Make the bows, festhers, arrows, quivers, calls, most all I need. I've worked to detach myself from the industry and haven't had a need to go into an archery store or 'pro shop' for many years. There's nothing there for me. They have osage staves or sinew there? I probably wouldn't recognize that stuff as archery gear. Probably figure I'd wandered into an Auto Zone or somethin :^)

That might be true for some. That's part of the reason I went to trad.i like the simplicity  I got tired of setting up compounds it was fun for a long time but It takes a lot to set up a compound properly. And in the same breath theres a lot more that can go wrong too.I still do it for my wife my son and his friends bows. But I enjoy trad so much more .Learning to tune and set up your equipment is part of perfecting your craft compound or trad.
