In the prayer forum, one of posts mentions Mike Fedora told a customer he had just lost his son. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. I have not be enable to get anymore details than the little mentioned above. Does anyone have any details? Please pm me.

I had no idea when I talked to Carol just yesterday.  I asked to speak to Jason, and she said 'Jason is not with us any more'.  I just thought he had taken another job.  Was not sure what was the reason cause I know he was one heck of a bowyer and was doing great carrying on his Dad's legacy.

So, now I'm at a loss.

Wow.  I only met Mike and his wife once back in the 70s when they insisted I stay with them because the evening was late and a true blizzard was making travel dangerous.  I moved shortly after that and lost touch, but I will always remember their hospitality.  No one should have to face the death of their child, let alone any other family member.  I wish them peace.

I had originally posted in the prayer forum. I'm thinking I might have misconstrued what Mike Sr meant by losing his son. A member of Trad Gang sent me a PM saying Jason had just friended him on Face book. I hope it was just miscommunication on my part. I apologize if it was a misunderstanding.

Speculation is just that.

Whether Jason left the family business or passed from this earth, his father and Fedora bows will miss him terribly.

As most of us know, the eldest son went off on his own many years ago, spiraled and when last I was in touch with the family core, he seldom had contact if any.

Perhaps some of you still close could just call and find out?  Then we'd know how to better direct our prayers?

Thing is that the Lord knows the situation and has it covered, I'm sure.

Terry,

You have answered my question, I have always had good visits with Jason in past at shoots. He used to hang out with us around the campfire. I knew of Mike Jr. But he was not really considered part of family anymore and The minute I read Mike had lost his son, in my heart I knew that meant Jason but I could not find anyone to verify that, I had hoped my heart was wrong.

Very sad indeed, as Jason was a great young guy in the prime of his life. I will miss him around the fire, and remember his smile.

His family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Wow. That is hard!  Worked with Jason many times on some bows and broke bread with the family a couple times.  Great people. Prayer on the way.

It was me Jason friended on Face Book a few days ago. Just got a message from him - he is fine. Let him know about this thread.

Yes, I just talked to Mike Sr. this morning and Jason is alive although he's not sure where Jason is. He no longer works at the shop with Mike and Carol, very sad indeed. The Fedora's will be at Sawmill this Saturday..............IJ

Ah... When the message from the Fedoras was simply "No longer with us", given their abiding faith, I'd have thought they'd be more explicit and spoke to his passing from this earth.

Thanks, John.

Jason seemed to be a decent fellow with a sense of fairness in him.

I'm glad he's at least alive and well.  Prayers for a good life for him and healing for the separation for the Sr. Fedoras.

I am sorry for all the confusion. When I spoke to Mike, I immediately assumed the worst. I glad to hear Jason is still well, although the company lost a valuable asset. I pray for healing within the Fedora family.

Amen, this is great news, maybe not  around the shop, but much better than "lost my son". The Fedora family has been making bows along time, they will survive this hurdle.

Can we edit the title on the primary post so as not to cause undo alarm?

Glad no one has passed on.
