Well, I had a few unexpected hours to myself today, so I figured I'd grab my bow, fish arrow, my oars and head out on the water.  Well, I decided to use my early 70's Grizzly with an old bear reel.  I rowed out to a nice grassy flat, I tied the arrow on slowly stood and scanned the water, and there was a nice fat carp about 6 inches down. I picked a spot just under it and let'er fly.....SNAP.....There goes my arrow unattached to my reel...the line must have snagged on something.  it was my ONLY arrow..  well, needless to say I saw about 15 more carp just under the surface of the water.   brought my bass tackle for back up!!

After losing a number of arrows using the Zebco, I bought a Retriever reel and have not lost an arrow since!

Better luck next time out!

Hey Sean, I feel your pain.  I used to say I couldn't afford an AMS.  I know you wanted to go Vintage but..... I used to spend enough on arrows every season to buy 2 AMS reels.

I've had my AMS for about 12 years now and never lost an arrow with it. Its more than paid for itself.

I wish I was in the boat with you.  I always have a  spare arrow for my buddies to use   ;)    :p

Sean, you need to reload and get over there wherever Curt was the other day with Faith! He had those fish swimming between his feet in that video he posted!

Ouch!  It happens. There is always next time, and knowing the carp are there is assuring.
