Anybody hunt around the Broken Bow? I'm contemplating a trip there sometime this year or next. Likely a dual trip for some trout fishing. Just kinda wondering where to look at around there since there is so much public land. Any advice would be great.

A friend and I hunted around there a couple of years ago. We hunted in the Weyerhaeuser logging ares. When we'd ask the locals about good deer hunting areas, they'd just reply, "they're everywhere." And then usually they'd suggest that we poach them by shooting them with a gun during bow season.
My friend finally saw one when he set his blind up by a pond, but didn't get a shot before some people showed up to fish the pond. We didn't get anything, but we had fun roaming the beautiful countryside.

Not much help, I know, but I HIGHLY recommend that you get a map of the area if you plan on hunting any of the logging areas. It is WAY TOO EASY to get lost in there.

There are deer all over the place down there.  There is no bad area only you have to pick a place and set up accordingly.  I suggest 3 rivers or the national forest, and do get a map or you could burn a lot of extra gas.

Awesome! After talking to the fam it sounds like we might be doing a 3-4 day trip, maybe early November. Might only get 1 day hunting out of it but won't hurt to give it a shot!
