I've been out in the Chesapeake with my first bay boat I just picked up Memorial Day weekend. There have been a lot of opportunities to shoot rays while running crab lines and fishing. I want to get into some shooting action while out there. I have a few questions.

Would I need to use a float or can they just be reeled in?

I have a 20' boat with 4' of flat deck on the bow and the raised stainless rails. Would I need to build a platform to fit on the rails to gain another foot or two of elevation?

I use empty 1 gallon jugs. With about 20' of line on them. If you get into a few rays you can keep shooting then round them up. I don't like the idea of my bow being tied to the ray. They can pull hard
Use cloves so line does not cut in your skin
Small bat to smack them in the head and a gaff
I love Bow Hunting

That sounds easy enough. I need to try that next time out.

Thanks!
