I have made a couple of neck knives lately with some 2 blade Zwickey heads and antler tines. They are kinda small but light and handy. This has gotten me to wondering what might be a larger sized 2 blade to look for to make into some other knives.
Any suggestions..?

I can't think of any that are wider, and the Simmons even comes in a 4 blade.

I think it's steel force that makes a nice long and wide two blade.

I do like the looks of the Ace heads...kind of like the Zwickys.
I had a couple Deadheads but put them in the St Judes auction last year.

I would suggest not just looking for the largest 2-blade, but finding one harder than normal. Most broadheads are left quite soft for ease of sharpening with a file and impact survival.
If a file cuts it, it will not hold an edge very long as a knife. This, of course assumes you are just going to put a handle on an already heat treated BH. If you are going to re-harden and temper, then it becomes a different story entirely.

As a broadhead, it needs to cut once. As a knife, you would like it to cut multiple times before it has to go back to the stone.

The Zephyr Scirocco made by Hornes archery is an 1 5/16" and it's made of stainless steel,would be harder and hold an edge longer.

I know that most broadheads are not hardened as much as a regular knife. Heck, the standard issue M7 bayonets were only around a 57, maybe a bit more or less, on the Rockwell scale.  
What I'm making are just meant to be handy little neck/strap knives. Not something to skin an elk with...

I kind of figured that Paul, but RC-57 makes a pretty decent knife blade. Most BH's are probably more in the high 40's. I made a copy of a German hunting sword from an old rusty K-98 bayonet that I thought would be too soft, but it holds an excellent edge.

I thought the newer broadheads were in a higher range of hardness these days. Thanks for the info Bladepeek.

Paul are you looking for screw in or glue on. I got a sasquatch that the adapter is bent on. Its 1 1/2" wide by 2 1/4 long stainless steel.
I always thought about making a handle so I could unscrew a broadhead and then I would have a little knife or something to get a point out of a tree.
