Just curious if there was a Howard Hill longbowmen organization. I heard there use to be one, but it had been cancelled.

Used to be a website by that name. It was hosted by " Dick in Seattle". Not a club per say.

I was one of the original members due to a number of reason Dick had to give it up. After moving back to Al I lost contact with Dick. Hope he's doing well.

He ran an email list club where we would write emails about HH style. The HH bug thread running on this site is pretty much the same thing and a lot of the guys from the list post on here now. I learned a lot from both.

Just checked the site out . I did not know it was still there. There are more pics of my Hills there then what I have .

I used to belong to that group, we had a patch and everything....
   Lots of knowledge on that site.

I lost my contact info on ol Dick when I moved back to Al has anyone heard from him lately ?

I was in the group also, Dick is quite a guy.

I too count myself lucky to have been in the group. Hope all is well with Dick. I really enjoyed the "hillvisit" photos he posted.

Another former member here. I  own a 64", 50@28 "Longbowman's Choice" made by Howard Hill Archery for group members. This bow is pictured on Dick's web site. It has yew lams front and back with Texas ebony riser and end tips. A center lam of cocobolo and a lam of carbon really dress this bow up. Last I heard, Dick was making his own bows for friends and family. He is also into vintage sewing machines. I have not seen a post on TG by Dick in a couple of years. Hope all is well.  

Bill, I owned that Longbowmans Choice for a while, and last I heard, some guy that goes by Ric O'shay had it. A very nice little Hill, for sure.

I emailed Dick to check on him and to ask about the Howard Hill longbowmen. He stated in His email, that he had some medical issues. He stated that he was still shooting longbows, they just had to be less than 20 pounds. He also stated that he no longer could operate the Howard Hill longbowmen site. Maybe we can get the Longbowmen's club back going.

I was never a member of Dick's group but was a Life member of the original Howard Hill Archery Club in California. I guess Life member means that I'm still a member       Hugh Rich was the Secretary and he's been gone for a number of years now. I doubt that the club is still going.

 

Wow Ron!!! What year was that? That is really nice. A great piece of history. I wish we could start it back up. It would be a great investment for our kids and younger traditional shooters.
