Please post your pics of Arroyos!!!!!

(Especially Bocote risers)

Im in the market for a new bow, and Im kinda torn between a few. I already have the Arroyo below, and all I can say is that its AWSOME. I just got into the Trad thing, and now Ive gone cold turkey from my wheely days. Ive gotten rid of all my Compound stuff, and have some $$$$ to play with.

The problem is, The research I did prior to getting my first good recurve ended me up with the Arroyo. I cant see how I can improve on this bow! Its everything and more I wanted.

Im considering a Black Widow Gold Anniversary PGA, but is it worth twice that of the Arroyo? The reason Im considering the BW, is cause I always wanted one, and now I have the $$$$...

I always heard that Traditional Archery was harder, but I had no idea they were talking about deciding between bows????????

Please post your pics to help sway me.....

Here's my PGA to help put you in the mood! I really  love it, but I just ordered a new Morrison, guess you can never have too many bows!

Rob, do you have any more close ups of the riser.  I love the osage, but can never get a feel for the Brazilian rosewood.  A close up of that would be great...Mike

It's veeerrryy dark red, blackish in most light.  It does have a very consistent and rich color, though.  Let me try to blow one of these up from the raw, unsized photo and see if I can get more detail for you.

Mike, look at the piuc of mine. The rosewood in it is MUCH lighter in color than most of them that I have seen. I think you could probably talk to BW when you order and request darker or lighter depending on which you like.

Mine has a vey nice grain throughout.

Mike,
Here's some closer Brazilian Rosewood pics...the best one is probably the overlay that says "Golden Anniversary"....the others show the reddish color some, but suffer from the sunlight playing on the frost finish.  I've seen some rich gloss finished BR that really makes this wood's charactistics pop.  Anyway, here ya go....

Thanks for the pics Rob.  That sure is a pretty bow.  A.S...I noticed your bow was somewhat lighter.  I wish I could see both in person to make up my mind.  Maybe both you guys could send em to me for a couple weeks til I decide : )

I couldn't decide by looking at the catalog so I ordered a cocobolo/osage PTF instead, I'll be sure to post pics when I get it...Mike

I have shot both, the Arroyo and the Widow TF. I now own four TFs. Both are very fine bows. To me however, there is no more stable shooter than the Widows. Sits dead still in the hand at the release and points naturally, both good attributes in the field at crunch time. Is that worth a higher price? You have to decide. I've made my decision.

maxwell

I've had widows RER bows, have two of each now RER are as fast or faster and Kevin and Sue are great to work with. Theres no way the widow is worth the several hundred dollars more, course thats my opinion for whats its worth. try to shoot them both and then decide. Better yet get one of each used on this site for about the price of a new widow.

Just replace widow with Arroyo in dales post and you have my OPINION. The Arroyo is flat out the best one piece curve.out there IMVVHO. Check RERBOWS webpage there is a COCObolo and Bocote in the instock bows.<><.

Ya know my answer they are very simalar as far as design except the RER has static tips. I like the Widows but they are definitely not worth twice the money. Thye are not as good of perfromers and they are louder without a doubt. If a used TF came along for a good price I would buy one myself but would not pay close to a grand for one new. Shawn

LeRoy, that leopardwood and wenge bow is one of the most beautiful bows I've seen!
