What brace height produces the best results on your Blacktails?  7, 7 1/8, 7 1/2, I can't really tell any differnece

I have owned multiple Blacktails. It will depend on which bow you have. For 64 in takedowns, I did really well with 7 1/2. For the 66 in takedown I needed 7 3/4. I now have a new Sitka 62 in and like just barely under 7 1/2. The difference I could tell was noise and vibration when I went too low and also a bit finicky with accuracy when too low.  I don't like too high at all because I like the efficiency that comes when it's just right. Have fun!

My 62 inch blacktail likes 7 1/2.

I had a 60" and 62" Blacktail and both liked
7 1/4" for brace height

My 62" BT is set at 7 1/2" ... took me a bit of work to get this bow quiet

thanks guys, I am set at 7 1/4 right . 7 1/2 seemed a bit extreme to me but I will play with it a bit and see if it makes a difference in how quiet it is, thanks again

7.5 is good

I would buy a 10 strand D-10 string or a Rhino 12 strand with built up loops and put good sized wool puffs on that string.Your bow will shoot quietly

I have had quite a few Blacktails and like a custom string on all of them over the stock strings that come with the bow.It will be quieter, more pleasant to shoot and a little bit faster

I have an 8 strand BCY D-10  SBD string with 2 yarn balls as string silencers and padded loops, is 7 1/2 still ok with this 8 strand string?

Should be just fine, I put a piece of felt/light fleece material over the string groves on both limb tips. You could also wrap below the loops with yarn instead of material over the sting groves. I know a few folks that have gone as low as 6 strands with padded loops on their BT's. My current string is ultra cam and made by Allen Schafer ... Lefties R Us   great strings
