400 carbon--400 aluminum

I am currently shooting Beman ICS bow hunter 400's cut 29.5" with standard insert and a 175 grain tip with 3-4" feathers, out of a Timberhawk Monarch 52# @ 28". I draw 28". I can get a really good deal on 2 dozen of the black Easton XX75 arrows. They are 400 spine also. Is a 400 spine aluminum gonna tune the same as a 400 spine carbon?

They might be close but you can probably expect having to alter length or front end weight some.I've switched brands of carbon,but same spine and had to change point weight some.

You can't really compare carbon spines with aluminum spines in my experience.They may be close in numbers but they react and recover differently.They are two different animals.The 400 spine aluminums with a 175 gr tip will probably weigh as much as 100 grs. heavier in arrow weight depending on which carbon arrow.It will tune different.

I will say I think you will have to do some retuning. Not even 2 different brand carbons that are marked the same will act the same.

The static spine should be the same off of a spine tester... they just have different dynamic spines.

Dynamic spine is how the arrow reacts when you shoot it. Static is how it is measured on a spine tester.

Plus the 400 aluminum is basically a 2117,larger diameter then your standard size 5/16 carbons likie the ones you shoot.The black Easton Gamegetter XX75 are 500 is a 2016,400 is a 2117,340 is a 2315 and the 300 is a 2317.

Don't know if this is helpful but I shoot Gold Tip 5575 at 30" with 200 grain points and the black 400s with 175 at 30" and both paper tune bullet holes.

Go to the ThreeRivers dynamic spine calculator and plug in your current rig and arrows. Then try it with the aluminum. I have been able to shoot an aluminum arrow that is weaker in spine than the carbon arrow from the same bow.
In aluminum, there is also the issue of diameter.
The diameter difference is going to change the centershot of the arrow and alter the flight.
The Beman ICS is a 19/64" diameter arrow.
