I'm just applying the finishing touches to my first home-built selfbow, rawhide backed Osage, 73" & 60#@31" and in my downtime I figured I really ought to make up some proper (non carbon) arrows.......

Full length tapered cedars, 3 fitted with Snuffers weighted up to 200gn, 3 that I hafted with beautiful knapped points made by my good friend Woody Blackwell.
Keep your eyes open in June & hopefully I'll be posting a story about how well they perform!

Only way your arrows would look better if there was some blood on them!

You should have no problems seeing your arrows. Those stone points look awesome. Those look great.

Man those arrows are lookers, but you forgot a pic of your bow bud.

Those stone heads look awesome!  That will be a cool feeling sending one through a big bruin's chest with that selfbow you just carved up!  Good luck on the hunt Rob.

Hope you pass the initiation rites soon!
The hardest part will be choosing which one of those beauties to put on the string.  I vote for the light blue one.

It gives a totally new meaning to throwing rocks at the deer. All  the arrows look great but the ones with  stone points are especially fine.

I've seen Robs bow in person. I was at the Tenn Classic as he finished it up and shot the course. With these arrows it will be his bad if he misses the opportunity to put one of these arrows into a bear but my money is on Rob.
One suggestion, if I may Rob...add a bit more wrap behind the stone points. I would suggest an inch long sinew wrap. Better safe than sorry! d;^)

Adding Woodie's work into the mix adds to the chances that a bear will give itself to you. Good man, major mojo.

Hi Killey!
Pat, I followed Woodey's instructions for hafting these heads. Epoxied them in place & tightly wrapped & bound them with unwaxed dental floss. Coated the whole lot with TB III. I'm 100% confident in them, which Ithink is 99% of the battle  ;)

Okay, so a few folks asked about the bow, well, here she is.

73" tip to tip, rawhide backed Osage with buffalo horn tip overlays & a beaver tail grip.
I stained the rawhide & did a little camo job. It came out a little more orange than I expected, but I like it!
It draws a hair over 60#@30"

Be gentle, this is the first selfbow I've built!
