I don't often get hickory with snake but this one was a dandy. It is 50 @ 28 and sinew and snake backed going to Shawn Webster.

Did a little wood burning in the handle.

Looks great, can you show us more?

Only problem I would have with that bow would be to fall asleep and wake up screaming like a little girl that a snake has slithered up and took the place of my bow.

Looks Great!!

That thing looks alive in the last pic  :)

Al Dente

That is ridiculous.  Unreal, so lifelike, got a cousin who would not even walk into the room where it was laying.

You really haven't hunted the old fashion way until you've done it from one of these Indian houses.(The Tipi) "Glenn ST. Charles"

I love it too!  I love Shawns quillwork.

Keith, Shawn is as good as they get when it comes to quillwork. He is making me a neck knife sheath.

That's a beaut Mike!!! Never seen a "snakey" hickory stick before. Most of mine are pretty straight.
God is good, all the time!!!

I have some real snakey osage that would make some real nice bows. They are 64 1/2 '' long and most have the bark and sapwood off and ready to work. They can be ordered off of my website  www.pinehollowlongbows  and put a message that you want one of the snakey ones.

mmgrode

That's really unique to find hickory like that, Mike.  I wonder which species it is?  You really made the most of that piece of wood.  Thanks for sharing it with us!

Cheers, Matt

PS- wouldn't mind having that stack-o-sage in my back yard!!
