Its 5:45 am here in michigan a beautiful 52° morning and tge quest for a longbeard with a long bow begins the faint sound of a gobble has m heart pumpin already. Hopefuly today is the day i quiet tge voices of the ones who look at me crazy when i say its longbow turkey time. Good luck to fellow michiganders this morning. Updates to come.....

well i called him in right out of the roost. Had him all fired up gobbling even at the sound of the geese. he hung up st 12yds in the only spot my brush blind had no shooting lane. Then he ran...i thought what did i do but then seen another hunter walking the field edge across from me...ofcourse with no permission. Little while later he crossed in front of me but at 30yds...

My kids are learning to understand when we drive to a public spot and see someone else's car, we move on so as not to disrupt their hunt, and not to be too upset when someone else walks in on us instead of moving on, but when things like that happen on private land, when the person shouldn't even be there..... well it kinda burns me up a bit. Good luck on the rest of your season bud. Hope it was a one time problem.

back in the brush pile this afternoon temp sky rocketed up to about 75 ° should be able to get him on the way to his roost. we shall see

On my land, trespassing deer hunters seem to be a thing of the past. We have very few problems with other deer hunters anymore. We used to have terrible deer season trespass problems, but those older generations of guys who thought it was acceptable to trespass are fading into the sunset. It seems the younger guys of today can comprehend the "No Trespassing" sign better than the guys in the 1970's-1990's could do. LOL

However, we still have turkey trespass problems and terrible bear hunter/hound problems.

I suspect with turkey, the guy who trespasses is lured away from his common sense by the gobbling of the nearby Tom. The hunter knows there's a Tom there, so he gives into the siren call and does something that he probably wouldn't do if he didn't hear a turkey.

And so it begins....
