Ron is the king of all things sharp.  Best of all,  he is generous with his knowledge and likes nothing more than sharing it with others.  First class all the way!

Ron goes beyond just sharpening knives & broadheads just ask Bill Dunn.  The guy is a master of visualizing challenging situations.  I almost gave up forging my inside curved hog strippers until Ron showed me his JewelStik 1-2-3 Diamond...tippit

Does anyone know if this system will work on simmons broadheads?

Wow! The most sincere thanks everyone...

I was talking to Bill Dunn a week or so back and we agreed that sharing knowledge is just something that we   all  do here. I don't know much about much, but what little I do know I'm happy to share. (plus I hate to see anyone struggle with something that can be a fairly easy task with just a little help).

If I may have managed to help any of you in some small way in the past, please know that the friendships we've made doing it are priceless to me.

It's been crazy busy recently, but I managed to set aside some time for some sharpening.

Before asking Ron for help, I watched his video and read all the instructions that were provided.

Just with the coarse stone alone, I could get my broadheads, hunting knives and kitchen knives hair popping sharp. Next step will be to use the finer stones.

To say I'm happy is an understatement... Now I'm actually having some fun with it!!! Definitely not frustrated and wasting time anymore...

Here's my new KME tackle box.     ;)

Now, my KME sharpener is a permanent fixture on my workbench.

Welcome, Ryan to the "I Can't Sharpen ShiX, International, Assn"

I was believing I was founder and President for a long, long time. LIke you're story, I bought replaceable blade heads, cause for the life of me, I could sit and sharpen from dusk till dawn and not end up with anything but cramped hands!

I had one of those "draw thru" type sharpeners and thought I'd found Glory.  Alas, I got my deer ok, but pitiful blood trails.  Doc Ashby convinced me to contact Ron... I got the sharpeners and he tutored me not once, but several times (Hey, I'm old, I forget!)so I printed out the instructions and put them in my kit(s)

Draw thru got them sharp ok, but with a 19* bevel, they'd be dull 1/2-way thru a deer and come out dead dull!  :(

The product is the bomb.  Ron is the fuse that lights enlightenment!

I resigned my office in CSSI!

I'm more that capable of sharpening anything to razor sharpness entirely by hand. HOWEVER!! Given the choice I will always use my KME to do the job and save hand sharpening for field work if needed.

I believe the jig sharpened edge is not only tougher and more consistent, but also your broadheads and that custom knife will last longer in their original shape due to achieving a razor edge with minimal stock removal.

LOL Doc! I'm right there with ya!!! I must have been running the Hawaii chapter of CSSI!!! I'm glad I'm not part of that anymore!!!

Now if I could only sharpen my lawnmower blades.    :D

Totally agree Charlie!!! Thank you for your insight!

Hear that Ron? KME for lawn mowers... hmmmmm!

Since broadhead sharpening threads always get a lot of attention and there may be newcomers who have not read this thread, I'm providing a link.
