Hey guys,
I bought a camo Fletching cover from 3rivers right after deer season.  I never got busted with my bright yellow fletching, but I figured it would be one more precaution, especially with turkey season to prepare for.  I tinkered and practiced with around home, but never took it out in the field.  I was on a three day turkey hunt this past weekend, doing a lot of running up and down ridges in a big hurry, lots of thick brush...etc.  By the end of the hunt, my feathers were THRASHED!!!  They got crinkled up and smashed, and just generally jacked up.  I have the one with an elastic strap that goes around the quiver hood to hold it in place.  Is this just a fact of life with fletch covers??  Did I use it wrong??  As always gentlemen, thanks in advance.

I don't think you did anything wrong. I use 4x5" fletching and I noticed a similar problem when I went on my hunting trip to Missouri last fall... I'm thinkin about ditching the cover this fall

I have one from Safari Tuff, by Rod Jenkins, on all my bow quivers and I felt it helped to protect the fetching.  I normally shoot 4x4 set at 90 and no issues.

Steam your fletch in a tea kettle whistle. Should come right back. I have used a fleece fletch cover for years. It had a closed bottom end so I cut the bottom seam open and it works much better and no more smashed fletch. I use big fletch too.

Steam your fletch will bring them back as stated above. I use a Kelly fletch cover just in case I get caught out in the rain or if I'm still hunting in heavy brush. I have no problem with this cover smashing my feathers.

I have very little problems with trashing my feathers in mine unless its raining hard.

I think all the cloth ones are too thick and heavy. I bought one and dont like it. Now I just use a big bread wrapper and a rubber band and dont have much problem.
