Some treestands I've had

I was thinking of some of the stands I've had over the years. In order,Baker,Barrie Archery wedge stand,Loc On Lem,Loggy with band, Loggy with cable. I'm now using the Loggy base with a Lone Wolf hand climber top. What did you have?

ladder stand (killed my first compound deer and my first longbow deer)

sold it and bought a climber (didnt like it)

Have a ladder again (but didnt use it much last year)

With a longbow I am limited in draw as I can hit the side rails.

Ive enjoyed ground pounding for several years.
My knees are getting worse so I may use the ladder stand and I may not.

I like hunting gun season with my 44 pistol, so I may use it for it.

I used an old Baker climber "One" time. I think it weighed 50 pounds, and it was scary. Some of the best chain on stands made were the Staghorn stands out of Goshen Indiana. Of course Screaming Eagle, and Lone Wolf are good. I like ladder stands, but it's getting too dangerous to put them up, and take down by myself. I want to try ground blinds more this coming season. Baker climber, Loggy climber(band), Lone Wolf Climber. Still have my LW climber but haven't used it in years.

Use my LW Alpha, Rivers Edge & Chippewa Wedge Loc hang ons now. Looking forward to more action on the ground with ghillie now also. Good hunting!

Baker, trail hawk x2 small and large platform , I still have both, took the wood floor off and had aluminum grate floor welded on the large, filled with insulation foam , then painted with rubber dip. Loc on lem , Loggy bayou with band so I could hunt on state land. Screaming eagles x4-5,
I thought about ordering a few screaming eagles, heavy but they were a great stand. Thought about a lone wolf hang on, never tried one. Have a few modern stands but liked the screaming eagles the best.

Ground hunted for several years before getting a Gorilla, bought a Viper 5 years ago and switched to it. Bought a ladder stand last year for one of the properties I hunt. Still do a fair amount of ground hunting, but mostly during gun season. Really prefer a stand with the bow.

I've had Baker, Warren & Sweat, Loggy with band, Loggy cheap seat, TSS, Loc-on, API climbers and hang-ons, Summitt climbers and hang-ons, Rivers edge ladderstands, Big Game Ladderstands and a couple of homemade hang-ons which weighed way to much to carry around. Mostly hunt out of ladderstands now on my familys farm and my mother and father in laws property so I can leave them up all the time except when I take them down to change the straps every year.

have about 8, two home made's (love the one with a tractor seat but heavvvvvvy!) a couple gorilla's, one loc-on and summit, and a couple big game's. love the gorilla's for size, weight and comfort (seats are high-I had to custom lower), big games have great platforms and good adjustable seat heights.

TSS climber. It had a plywood platform and no seat or climbing aid. My chest and arms would be black & blue by the end of the season from hugging the tree.

7 home made hang-ons. 2 LW hang-on's. If I use a climber, it's a Summit. Used a LW climber once, gave it away. I use Rivers Edge ladders, or LW sticks. No more screw in's or Sky hooks. I owned one Baker (Slim Jim), lucky to be here to talk about it.

Climbers don't work in the crooked oak trees in central TX. All of my tree stands are Game Tamers. They are a bit heavy, but there is not one out there that is more comfortable.

Had some scary moments in those Baker Slim Jim and TSS tree sliders!! Anyone remember the "Lawson Wedge" folding crotch stand? Didn't get much more portable than those!
Loc-On Lem's & Spirit's were the choice for a while, then Screaming Eagles became my favorite stand as long as I didn't have to carry them too far.
Summit, Non-Typical, Ameristep, and Lone Wolfs. I've got a bunch of them, and they all get the job done... even though these days as I get older, I spend more and more time on the ground in my Double Bull blinds!

Baker, Woods and Water, and LW climbers and Chippewa and LW lock ons during my hunting days. The Woods and water, LWs, and Chippewa stands I still have and are awesome stands. For a big guy, and thousand of hours in the trees, these 3 companies are great but a little pricey. Peace!
