If a bow is cut before center, how do you use the arrow tip to locate your point hold when the arrow tip is left of the point of impact? When I shoot, I hold the bow vertical. Therefore, I look at the arrow tip to hold below the point of impact. When the arrow is left (RH) of the point of impact, how does one account for the hold-on point?

In my experience it doesn't work that way.  Most of my bows have not been cut to center, and I sight straight down the arrow to the very center of the target, and that's where the arrow hits...if it is spined right.  The shallower the shelf, or the farther away from center, the weaker the spine needs to be to compensate.  But if your arrows are tuned right, I don't think you need to adjust how you sight/shoot regardless of how shallow or deep your shelf is cut.  I even shoot and hunt with selfbows with no shelf at all; I shoot off my knuckle and still sight the tip right in the center of the target.

I guess it's a dumb question. The physics just had me perplexed.   :knothead:

Not a dumb question at all, just need to understand the arrows reaction at release (paradox), you NEED to have it pointing left for a RH archer. Lots of great videos on youtube - check some out, especially look up yononindo, he posts here.
