I have seen first hand some of your leather work and had a look at one of your quivers last weekend at a 3D shoot, I was impressed. Did you make the back quiver in the photo ?

Cheers Macca.
Yes Macca , that is the second back quiver I made ,I did that over in England.
I have hopefully improved a little since then    :)

Yes Clint hopefully the timing will be better next year, The mountains will still be there next year to humble me yet again.    :notworthy:

Good effort Mark! Great to see you chasing your dreams. Ironically I've done the same, moving from South Africa to the UK to learn gunsmithing. The lack of hunting/shooting is taking it's toll though and I can't wait to head back to SA. I'd love to try some hunting in Oz or New Zealand, those destinations are firmly on my wish list. Great read thanks for posting, and good luck!!

Great read, Thank you !! Always dreaming about hunt Australia again

It was interesting, when I lived in England I could shoot with guys who used, supressors (silencers), lights mounted on the rifle, night vision technology etc. but a bow is a poachers tool?  A funny bunch those Brits.

Thanks for sharing that with us, Mark.

That's awesome, Mark! I have a few friends from Austria (which is also a place where bowhunting is not legal) and it is awesome to see their face light up when they come to the US to hunt. I could not imagine living in a place where bowhunting was not legal.

Keep chasing your dream and have a great time doing it!

Great story Mark.  Sounds like you are living the dream!
Always good to see another brit bow Hunter. It amazes me that we have so much history from the bow and yet we are not able to take game with one. Often looked down upon from most UK archers when the subject is brought up.
I think when the wildlife act was re written in the 60's  there was not many bow hunters around, or an organization to promote it so it was simply missed off the permitted list of weapons. And been illegal ever since. Your not on your own. I live for bows, bow building and hunting with them. My Dad and a few friends are also keen bowhunters.
Good luck in Oz and keep those pictures coming.

Thankyou Brian,
The lack of freedom for hunting in England is pretty disappointing.

I think I have made the right choice.
I will put another story and some more pictures up soon.

Where abouts are you from in England ?
Cheers
Mark.

Great hunt, thanks for sharing!
There is a place for all God's creatures....right next to the potatoes and gravy.

Mark. Yes it's a shame and I can't see it getting any better any time soon.
I don't really enjoy stalking with a rifle anymore.
At least its a great excuse to travel and see amazing parts of the world.
I'm from the West Mids.

I love that elk arm guard !

P.S. Almost forgot to mention, I really like the picture with what looks like a Kifaru 4 man tipi with the wood stove ! I have the Kifaru Sawtooth with a wood stove and its definitely the cats meow.
