Found an awesome deal on a bear hunt in Maine this fall. Since bear quest last spring and my first experience baiting bears in AR last fall I'm bear crazy.  Didn't think I'd be able to do a bear hunt this year but recently found a deal I just couldn't pass up. Dan Wagner with Maine Trophy Outfitters is offering a special on a self guided fall hunt. It's called self guided but each hunter will have two established active baits to hunt on prime exclusive access property.  Price includes lodging and bait for 6 days of hunting if needed. You're responsible for license, tag, food, transportation to and from the stand, baiting with the furnished bait, getting your bear out of the woods and processing. Cooler space is available. Cost for the hunt is 900. A portion of the money will be used to fight against the HSUS referendum on the ballot to ban ME bear hunting. Sent my deposit in and will be hunting the week of 9/7/14. Sounds like a pretty good deal, never have done a fall bear hunt.
