Sooner or late it will happen to most. I had one break a couple years ago at release. Will definately make you jumpy for a bit!

When I first read this I thought gold tip nocks. I recall seeing reports of them failing in the past. Might be worth a search.

After a dry fire, the sequence will change for MANY shots. "Pucker, draw, aim, anchor, release, try to unpucker."

Glad you and the bow are OK.
This put a grin on my face, having been there before I can definitely agree with the "pucker" part. Again, glad all is well.    :bigsmyl:

Had a few clear nocks break few years back. No proof but never had my white break yet. Knock on wood. Should be able to see cracks or stress on the clear.

Stringwacker

Just had a string to slip off the nock with the shot (I'm a three under shooter) No more Black Widow recurve riser as it cracked severely. I had another one that I replaced it with. Ordered a new one today. Bummer.

This is why I always put a little "squeeze" on my nock as I pull an arrow out of my target.

This may sound crazy and I don't know why but it seems to me the see thru or fluorescent knocks break more than the solid colored ones. It seems the fluorescent ones are harder and the solid ones are softer material. I have had nocks break in the past as well but only the fluorescent ones never a white one. I still shoot both and don't worry about it much. But something that I always wondered as only the fluorescent ones broke on me.
I too have found the see through nocks to be less resilient than the solid colors.

I had this happen a couple of years ago during a tournament and yes my heart skipped a beat or two. I was shooting my B/W PSA and it didn't suffer any damage, but I did suffer from target panic for awhile as a result of this. My only conclusion at the time was that that nock was grazed by another arrow. Check your nocks often because this isn't something that I would wish on anyone.

Never happened to me luckily. They've pulled out but not broken. If they look worn or bent etc I just replace them but never looked for cracks
I will now

Glad nothing bad happened
