The time has come to hang up my old pair of Silent-Hide pants I purchased ten years ago. While they held up well, I'm going to go another direction since they faded quite a bit and are now made from a cheaper feeling material than the one's I purchased a decade ago. With a purchase of some new pants, I am looking for something that will last and hold up well in tough conditions. I have been shopping around and like the looks of the First-lite Kanab pants. My reservations with such a big purchase occur when I think about the hardwood bottoms I hunt that are filled with briars. The thought of ripping a pair of pants that expensive on my first trip out  with them makes me sick to my stomach. Has anyone hunted extensively in the thick woods of the eastern US with these pants and would you recommend them? If not, what are the recommendations of this community for some durable, yet breathable camo pants?

I personally think the kuiu attack pants are the most comfortable pants out there. Much more durable than the first lite. I have worn mine in thick brush in CA. and they have held up well. Still wearing a pair Ive had for 2 yrs. And I hunt alot.

I've had a pair of the Kanab pants for a couple of years a really like them. You won't have to worry about much for burrs sticking to them. I have tons of stick-tites and cockle burrs on my farm and hardly ever have one stick on that fabric.

They are pretty tuff, dry quickly, fairly cool in warm weather and work well with layering in colder weather.

They come in several colors and a couple of Camo patterns. They hold up to Briars as good as anything.

I'd go with the KUIU attack pant. Dry super fast and don't pick up any burs. First lite has some good gear, their pants didn't impress me.

I wear Carhartts for short distance hunts.  Double knees when in the multifloral rose.  Just got some Sitka pants for my mountain hunts.

I think my kuiu attack pants are the best pants I've ever worn.  That said we have a lot of blackberry briars on our land here in wisconsin and the kuiu pants do catch some.
I have a pair of Day One bucksuede pants that are bulletproof with the prickers and I save my kuiu for non briar areas.

Kuiu attack pants are very comfortable but like Mike said stay clear of briars. Briars will make the legs look like a fuzz ball.

I love the kanab pants!!  Used for a moose hunt and early season eastern Pa hunt. You will not be disappointed.

Thanks for the responses! I tried some microtex on recently and really liked them...everything but the available patterns. I will check out the kuiu and carhartt  as well. Keep them coming!
