I'm planning on going spring turkey hunting upstate and would like to purchase a pop up type blind.Budget would be around $300. I have never purchased or used one before. I would like some advice/opinions on which ones you guys reccomend. I would also use it for deer hunting in the fall. I would like to get it now so that I could practice setting it up and shooting from. Will be using a 56" long bow for hunting right now up to 60" recurve. Pics of your blinds if you have them would be great to PM or post them! Thanks. Dave

Good post Dave, been wondering the same.

double bulls have been good to me.

I want to try a lucky's blind soon though. Look so simple!

I like older double Bulls. They'll work fine for the length bows you're shooting. Can probably pick one up for less than $300 if you watch the classifieds.

I have two original Double Bull Matrix's, one T2 and a Dark Horse.  Two be honest the original ones are a little better but not by much.  I do not like the new Double Bull Double wide as much .  I would look for an older DB or check out others recommendations.  I can tell you I am definitely becoming a believer in Blind hunting.  I have taken several turkeys over the years and several deer the last couple years.  Great tool to have in the bag.

I have a Hidden Hunter blind, which I like a lot.  And the company is fantastic to deal with, which is always a huge plus!  If you search, there are a lot of threads about them.  Best of luck!

I killed a turkey this fall out of my Ameristep Brotherhood blind. I bought it because it has vertical windows that are low enough to shoot through from a Huntmore chair.

I was shooting a 58" RER Retro. shot through the netting with no problem.

I paid less than $300 for it.

it's a good option.

p.s. - liked it so much, I bought a second one. plan to turkey hunt out of both this spring.

The ameristep brotherhood blind is a less expensive option. I like the windows on the double bull but from what I can find in our local sporting goods I like the price tag on the ameristep.

Ameristep here also for the quality you get for the price you pay but if you have that much to spend check out hidden hunter blinds that Ron laclair sells there awesome for us with trad bows and having clearance issues shooting

I checked out the brotherhood before posting. Thanks for the input on that John. It looks like a stout blind. Also looked into the Primos Blind Luck. Also looked at the Rhino xp1 which had some good reviews on other trad sites. Checked out Hidden Hunter also. I was looking for a blind that would be comfortable for 2 people.Gotta have good windows for shooting. Jarrod what were you using when you got the bird in your avatar? Congrats on that! Thanks for the tips guys! Still doing my homework. Dave.

The Hidden Hunter blind works great for turkeys because there are times when you'll want to pick up and go to the birds. With the HH you can fold up your blind and be on your way in a couple minutes.

Luckys blinds are great, he makes them to your specs if you want, and the material is superior to any others I have used. Look them up on google.

I live ten miles from Brooks Johnson the inventor of Double bull and he always would borrow u a blind if u wanted to use one.  If u can find an older model buy it.    I. Couldn't  so I bought a Hidden Hunter in Predator green and love it so far.
