I am wondering which type of quiver would best fit my needs.  I will be using this primarily for hunting but will take it with me to trad shoots and such as I will be hunting with a quiver on my bow.

I shoot a BW 3 piece recurve.  I was wondering which quiver would be best for my needs.  I notice that the great northern has several different types and I have never seen any of them.

I currently have a bigjims and the only thing I do not like about it is how it slightly moves while inserting your arrow.  I would like a more stiff quiver.  I am also open to other types if you have some.

I did not know if the strap on would be best so i could use it for both longbow and recurve or the one with the wire or what. lol.

Thank you for any help.

If you have a 3-piece bow, the quick detach model is the way to go, IMHO! Very easy on and off the bow, and looks real good too.

I agree the quick detach would be a great choice. Very solid.

I am using the insert side mount quiver with the extended hood for long broadheads.  I know black widow offers both the longbow and recurve with the inserts installed.  It holds the arrows tight, you just have to watch the thumb screws as they have a tendency to unscrew some if you shoot a bunch of arrows.  I am going to try a different rubber washer to see if I can make that go away.  This raccoon developed Damon Howatt narcolepsy.  Appears to be a permanent condition.

Great northern all the way.

If you don't have the side quiver inserts you may want consider the strap on adjustable.

Definitely order the deeper hood option. It is 1/2 in. Deeper and will safely hold any broad head.

Plus if you get a 1 piece bow you are covered.

Dragon heart try some Teflon thread tape on your thumb screws... That may reduce the bolts loosening up..

Gator 1,

Thanks for the tip.  Will give that a try.

Thank tou for the replies. I have two take downs and one one piece. I think the one I will get is the quick detach one. And just keep my big Jim's bow quiver for the one piece.

Do the quick detach quivers work on limb bolts that aren't perfectly straight like the BW? If they screw on the front of your bow?
