I don't mean to answer for Curt, but I do know he likes the string tracker a lot... so do I.

I like a Magnus I w/bleeder. (1 1/2 x 1 1/4)

The wide Deadhead, my supply is running low, so I am going to the four blade Herters that I just bought.

For you string tracker guys how are you attaching the string to the arrow?

I tried magnus bullheads twice, turkey's moved, hit them in the body and bounced off, I've gone back to snuffers and abowyer  two blade singe bevels.

Dirtybird

I attach the string right behind the broadhead after wrapping the arrow with some adhesive Velcro.  Works like a charm.

Thanks.  Armed with a bracket Jon Stewart was nice enough to send me I will prepared this year.  Lost a very nice bird last year that I knocked off his feet with what looked like a good shot.  One flap and he was gliding away never to be seen again.

I tie the string off with several wraps around the shank of the screw in insert and screw it down tight. Then I throw a very loose half hitch around the shaft right in front of the fletching.

As the arrow is drawn the loop formed by the half hitch slides along the shaft and stops in front of the bow.
On release the arrow slides through the loop and tightens down around the shaft in front of the fletch.
So far it has worked very well for me.

I'm not convinced it's necessary but it's something I do.

Charlie,
I have done something similar with fish arrows.  Makes sense to me.

Jake,

I've shot the string just tied to the tip and didn't see any negative impact on flight. That being said, it makes sense to me too.

I am going to be running zwickey delta 4 blades this turkey season and see if I like them or not. If not I am going to go with some treesharks.
