Have seen cubs do that before but never one that size.  My guess is he knew something was up there and he just wanted to inspect it a bit closer.  Seems like after he got a good close up whiff he decided that he knew enough and time to go back down.

If that was me and I had a rifle in my hands, that video would of had a completely different ending.    :D
